An autumn helicopter elopement in the Dolomites…does it get better than this?
A+O reached out at the end of July and planned their entire elopement in 2.5 months (proof, once again, that you really don’t need a year to pull something like this together). They knew what they wanted: sprawling mountain views that were easy to access, and enough privacy to enjoy it all. So that’s exactly what we did (with the help of a helicopter).
The fall timing was *perfection*. Crisp air, fresh snow dusting the peaks, and significantly fewer people than peak summer made it easy to just enjoy being in these places.
Their day kicked off with getting ready together, before heading to a nearby picturesque meadow and then sharing an *unreal* gluten free picnic spread (fellow celiac here, and Italy is genuinely one of the most GF-friendly places in Europe, it’s the best). Afterward they toasted champagne before heading to their helicopter tour.
It’s hard to describe how awe-inspiring it is to see the Dolomites from above, and their two landing locations continued to wow. One was near the iconic Tre Cime area, and another, a completely private, lesser-known vista where they exchanged vows with no one else in sight.
Just us, the helicopter pilot, misty rolling clouds, and larch trees just beginning to turn on the mountainsides below.
These two were interested in a helicopter tour after previously doing one in Switzerland and wanting to chase that feeling again…it’s safe to say, I think they found it.
What a truly magical day out.
If you’re thinking about a Dolomites elopement next fall I’d be stoked to chat (reach out via the contact form in our bio). This time of year is something else.
Olivia + Alex opted to spend the majority of their adventure exploring the Dolomites by helicopter. Their biggest priority was vast mountain top views with minimal hiking, and the helicopter tour made that easy to do. Not only did they get an *incredible* secluded ceremony spot, but also a unique vantage point of the famous Cadini di Misurina. You can check out Alex + Olivia’s full elopement timeline overview below.
