There’s something always extra special about sharing a breathtaking landscape with a couple after letting it sit on my ‘’location wishlist’’ for years. On this elopement, we got to relish in that for both their mountain top adventure and intimate ceremony with family – double the fun!
Lyndsey + Dominic decided to elope in Eastern Switzerland (one of my favorite regions) due to Dominic’s family ties to the area. The two wanted an easy day filled with great views, rolling green hills, time to relax and enjoy good coffee, and also make their families feel included in their celebration.
Their day started off slow and easy, with getting ready. Then Lyndsey shared first looks with her dad, before first looks with Dominic nearby their hotel. From there, we traveled via cable car into the mountains. Here, we had a hike planned along the sweeping plateau with some of the most unbelievable views. Clouds circles in and out of the mountains and we couldn’t stop stopping to admire the vibrant wild flowers. Eventually, we came to an especially scenic overlook where Lyndsey + Dominic exchanged personal vows.
After their private, emotional ceremony, Lyndsey + Dominic ate croissants and sipped Dominic’s mom’s famous coffee they had packed along. From there, we hiked further onward, watching the clouds slowly blanket the towering mountains around.
Before we knew it, it was time to cable car down and meet up with family at a nearby lake. Here, Yvonne Beck led a heartfelt ceremony. Lyndsey and Dominic gave personal gifts to their parents, and then lit a unity candle to symbolize their marriage. As the sun began to dip below the peaks, L+D shared a serene first dance in the softening light. It was simply perfect.
We’re so grateful that Lyndsey and Dominic trusted us to help plan and document their elopement in an area they already cherished (and let us show them a new side to it!). ♥

”My husband and I worked with Christine and Scott to capture and help us plan our elopement in Switzerland and had a wonderful experience. From the very start they were a delight to work with, very detail oriented, and made the entire process of planning an elopement feel fun and put us at ease. We were concerned it may feel like we were just walking around taking photos, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Christine and Scott were so thoughtful and helped us with ideas to create a day that was perfect for us. They are so personable we often forgot we were being photographed at all and had the best time spending the day with them. To top it all off the photos and video from our day were truly beautiful. I would highly recommend Made in the Mountains Photo to anyone looking for someone to capture their elopement!”
